Compress image
Make your photos lighter for email, websites, WhatsApp or online forms. Compress several images at once; they are processed in your browser and never uploaded.
How to use it
Drop your images or click to choose them. Adjust the quality and, if needed, a maximum width. Download each image, or all of them at once.
Formula and method
Each image is re-encoded with a lossy codec (JPEG or WebP) at the chosen quality, and optionally resized. Size saved = (original size − new size) ÷ original size × 100. At 75% quality the difference is usually invisible to the eye.
Worked example
A 4.8 MB smartphone photo (4000 × 3000 px) resized to 1920 px wide at 75% quality weighs about 350 KB: 93% lighter, perfect for a website or an email.
Frequently asked questions
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Compression is done by your browser on your device: your images never leave it.
Why is my PNG converted to WebP?
PNG is a lossless format, so it can hardly be compressed further. WebP keeps transparency and is usually 5 to 10 times lighter. You can choose JPEG or PNG instead.
