YouTube thumbnail downloader

How to use it
Copy the video link (Share → Copy link) and paste it in the box. The thumbnails appear at once; click Download under the size you want.
Formula and method
Every YouTube video has an 11-character ID (for example dQw4w9WgXcQ) found in its link. YouTube publishes the thumbnails of each video at fixed addresses (i.ytimg.com/vi/ID/maxresdefault.jpg, sddefault, hqdefault, mqdefault). The tool reads the ID from any kind of link and shows the sizes that exist.
Worked example
Paste https://youtu.be/dQw4w9WgXcQ or https://www.youtube.com/shorts/… : you get the 1280×720 version (if the creator uploaded an HD thumbnail), 640×480, 480×360 and 320×180.
Frequently asked questions
Can I reuse a thumbnail I downloaded?
Thumbnails belong to the people who made them. Downloading one for personal reference is fine, but publishing it again needs the creator’s permission, except for your own videos.
Why is there no HD version?
The 1280×720 version only exists if the creator uploaded a custom HD thumbnail or the video itself is HD. The other sizes are always available.
